Dug right out of Grandma’s recipe box, this Veggie Dill Dip has been handed down through my family’s generations. I mean, it made the church cookbook, so that tells you something, right? This Dill Dip with your favorite colorful vegetables served on a platter is a great nibbly for your guests before the main meal. Honestly, this is the most family-requested appetizer because it’s lighter in calories, so you can keep going back for more without guilt.
Beyond the obvious appetizer use, this is usually on my weekly prep list because it is great to add to lunch bags with cut veggies to take to work or school. Offering a healthy alternative to junk food, this Dill Dip and veggies is also a great go-to when you’re staring into the refrigerator looking for a nibble between meals. I have also used it in more adventurous ways, like putting it on a baked potato topping instead of butter.

Simply Measure And Stir
You’ll be able to whip this up with only a few ingredients, most of which you’re likely to already have on hand. The Dill Dip is made by simply measuring the listed ingredients and combining them into your intended serving dish and stir.
It’s best to prepare the dip a couple of hours before serving to let all of the flavors come together. If you don’t wait to serve, you’ll notice that the salt takes on a more prominent position than we want it to. Cover the serving dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours for best results. Use that time to cut up the vegetables of your choice, place them on a platter with space reserved for the dish of dill dip in the center.
As noted, this recipe has been handed down through the generations and is a staple at every, and I mean every holiday or get-together. As an appetizer, this dip has earned its place at the gathering in a prominent place right next to the chips and dip and as a weekly fixture in the refrigerator!
